We are nearly off...

Hey Guys,
Here is our first attempt at a blog post in preparation for our big adventure away.


Ski and I are getting beyond excited, 5 weeks until we fly from little ol NZ to the massive country of America.  We have hired a pimped out SUV for three weeks starting in LA and making our way up to San Fransisco  via the California Coast. Ski is most excited about the Baseball match in San Fransisco while i can’t wait to lap up some sun on the beautiful beaches.
To keep up you all up to date we will be doing regular blog updates and the odd go pro video (especially for you thai ;))  to make you feel like you are all traveling with us!

Helloooo everyone. We have safely arrived in Vancouver and have been loving every second exploring this beautiful city hence the delayed post about our final destination of San Francisco! San Fransisco - we think it should be renamed to 'pretty much the coolest city we have been to in America', a slightly long city name but we think it has a nice ring to it haha. We stayed at an awesome Air B n B in a area called sunset district and were hosted by an awesome couple called Bethany and Luke. They even left chocolates and vegan treats for us to enjoy along with a sneaky bottle of red (ski was pumped) and their best suggestions of what to do in San Fransisco. Ski and I said hello and shook hands. We made it..

Hi guys, Millie here, we have finally started our adventure and have touched down in Los Angeles. First step was to get through Customs, this was a breeze so much easier that what we both expected. Ski didn't even get questioned if there was anything hidden in his beard haha. We then bused from the LAX Airport to the car rental place and was told by the lovely assistant that we can go to Row 5 and pick what ever SUV car we wanted. Imagine a car rental place with the flashiest biggest pimped out cars, we opted for a spacious black Santa Fe, we named her Louise Tired after our flight to Auckland ;) Next step was to attempt driving on the right hand side of the road. Lets just say our communication skills had to be on point. Ski the driver and Millie the navigator. We didn't choose the camp life, the camp life chose us...

We drive through yet another set of gated booths which quite frankly are everywhere here in the USA. Its really weird. However, we  again  flash our national park pass unlocking the little gem that is Yosemite Valley. We were beyond excited and quickly took in views of jaw dropping scenery. We took time to plan a hike for the next day and after some time mucking about trying to find information, trying to park, and navigating the seas of people, eventually we made our pick. We were on the John Mist trail early and beat the crowds. The 6 oclock start was well worth it as parking was a breeze and we had the trail to ourselves. Having walked long enough to get a sweat up, we were then showered by the spray of a massive waterfall as we clambered up the slippery steps. We both got drenched but continued up the trail. After six hours of trekking sometimes in the wrong direction, seeing two amazing waterfalls, spotting the half dome, and also seeing loads of wildlife we complete...
